JZ tubas

Post by kontrabass »

Has anyone tried the "JZ" line of tubas at Baltimore Brass? Curious about their CC model which is supposedly "very similar" to a miraphone 188, but obviously much cheaper...

I haven't tried them, but call David Fedderly, and he'll give it to you straight up. He'll tell you exactly what it is, and exactly what it isn't.

Hi-
I am sure the JZ is a 186 clone, NOT a 188 clone--same as Schiller, Tuba Exchange, M&M, Dillon--find out which has the best price on them. There is a buy it now on ebay of a Schiller CC for $1885 plus ship.:

Go to BBC or the Army Tuba Conference and try them and others out. Good luck!
