Sousa march tuba part collection?

Post by Alex F »

Are there any compilations of Sousa march tuba parts available anywhere? Original parts in original keys are preferred. I've checked out a few of the "usual suspect" web sites where such a collection might be found but have not seen anything. For that matter, are there any for the other major composers: Fillmore, King, etc. I've acquired a few individual parts here and there but am just wondering whether or not someone has taken the time to compile a collection similar to the various orchestral excerpts.

Thanks

About 25 years ago, the Detroit Concert Band made parts of all the published Sousa Marches available for purchase. Since Leonard Smith is no longer alive, I didn't think there would any longer be any chance of purchasing them. However, I googled the DCB and with a few minutes searching, I found a contact that was current as of last October.
E-mail: deannabourn@yahoo.com" target="_blank. She is assisting Leonard Smith's longtime business manager in disposing of the DCB's inventory.

many pieces that are copyright expired are available at bandmusicpdf.org Using the search function enter " Sousa " in the composer field.. there you will find King Cotton, Semper Fidelis, The Thunderer , Stars and Stripes etals....there is also a sister website, I believe it is bandmusicscans.org ( not sure, but it is linked to from the other site ) where additional Sousa material may be available...jamsav :tuba:
