Bozza Sonatine...nice stuff.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw the "weak Trumpet 2" line in the OP. Never mind.

The Vivaldi-Bach Concerto (David Sabourin arranged it, I think) has a great-sounding playable tuba part - horn and trombone are tested in the 2nd movement but I don't think the trumpet parts are that tough. Never heard any complaints, and I've played with some real gripers.

Another is a William Boyce Suite but I can't remember the arranger.

I agree with Bloke on the interesting tuba part = impossible trumpet parts. We have the Canadian brass books of Dixieland and the tuba parts are great, but my trumpets are chicken-hearted, or maybe too lazy - not sure. Also, the Washburn 3 part brass quintet is lots of fun, but not at all a pop piece - have to have the right venue to play it for people other than us musicians.

Andrè Previn wrote a piece for Philip Jones brass ensemble, and John Fletcher espesially;
Four outings for brass - fun to play :)
And of course, as mentioned above, Both Bozza and Arnold.
But you need two whole trumpets :wink:
