Can you identify a tuba on ebay?
Item 220550848025 is said to be a B & H tuba. Is it really a Boosey and Hawkes tuba? I didn't know that they made front action Eb tubas. Thanks for your opinion.

You sure? That top bow looks too close to the bell, compared to the Willson Eb I've seen.Bob Kolada wrote:That's a Willson.

I emailed the seller for more information. I doubt that the listing is legit. We'll see.
EDIT.... the seller emailed my back and confirmed that the horn in questions is a Boosey & Hawkes. He promised to send me a model and serial number when he returns home.

I asked for more photos.
The funny thing is that this deal has PayPal buyer protection.

Maybe it's some sort of computer screwup (wrong url, changed it and forgot,...) on the seller's part and it is legit.
B&H did make front valve Eb's though.

The seller promised me more photos.
He has sold 1 (one) item before. How that went may be seen here:

It is not uncommon for a person to sell a whole bunch of little stuff and build up a "100%" rating before pulling a scam.
One of the best known "tricks" to see through a scam is to ask for a new picture of the item to be taken in front of today's newspaper headlines of the seller's local rag and see what happens.

The seller emailed me that it is a B & H German tuba. Thanks for posting the link to the feedback, which shows that when the seller tried to sell something in 2007, the buyer never got it.

the seller emailed me and wrote that the tuba is a German B & H. I looked at the feedback and the last time this seller tried to sell something, the buyer did not get it.
