There is a recording that I have been looking for, but I'm not sure that the info. I had for it was correct. The piece is Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral. The problem is I could have swore this particular recording was performed by the Eastman Wind Ensemble under Hunsberger. The thing is..no recording information shows up about it and the only commercial recording they seems to have was under Fennell. So, folks, does anyone know or have such recording? If any of y'all do, I would sure appreciate any help on this matter. It's my favorite recording of the work and I was sooo PO'd that I lost it.

Re: Elsa's - Eastman?
The only recording I know of "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" by the the Eastman Wind Ensemble is the Fennell one. I got my first copy 45 years ago this September after looking for one for over a year. My high school band had played it for State Music Festival in the spring of 1964 and I fell in love with the piece. I played the original LP so many times I wore it out but I was lucky enough to find a second copy which I still have. I also have it on CD as well as a disc on demand recording by the Marine Band.
I may also have an LP recording by Revelli and the University of Michigan Band. Those are the only ones I'm aware of.
I would love to conduct a band in it one time before I die.
An aside: In my home town there was a Tavern called the Oasis owned by a woman named Elsie so our nickname for the tune was "Elsie's Procession to the Oasis."

The Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra under the direction of Fennell played the same arrangement sometime ago. I have an unfortunately pirated copy that is exquisite.
Had the chance to talk to Fennell about the piece in August 2001, I was surprised he wasn't a very big fan of it. You definitely can't tell by the way his ensembles sound when he conducts it!

This copy that I have lost was also a pirated copy. Before anyone gets on me for that, I have quite a few "legit" copies of this piece, but the one I'm in search for was pirated.djwesp wrote:The Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra under the direction of Fennell played the same arrangement sometime ago.
