Vinicio Meza: Retratos for Tuba and Piano

Post by tubaluna »

Hey TubeNetters!

Does anyone know where I can find Vinicio Meza: Retratos for Tuba and Piano? It is on John Manning's new album Four Corners.

I am looking of the publisher and/or vendor if available for the sheet music.

By the way, John Manning's album is fantastic. Give it a listen. What a player!

It very likely isn't published yet. Contact Professor Manning directly at: john-manning AT uiowa DOT edu. I'm sure he'll be happy to give you more information about the work and how you can purchase a copy.

One of John's students has prepared clean editions of both parts that he has in digital and hard copy. He regularly responds to email, so shoot him a note.

It was published in 2003 by Bernel Music. After I heard John play it at the Army tuba conference (2004?) I ran right over to the elephant room and bought my copy, which may have been the last one that they had.

Brian Doughty is working on re-publishing Retratos and hopes to have it ready and available at ITEC in Tucson. I will be performing the "Cancion Sin Palabras" movement on my recital there. I glad to hear of the interest in the piece.
