Gato Loco artist residency: Festival des Hauts de Garonne

Next week, Gato Loco Coconino, starts its “artist residency” at the Festival des Hauts de Garonne in Bordeaux, France. We'll be at the festival from July 1 to July 9, and then in Paris on July 10.

This 11pc ensemble from NYC uses tuba as horn most of the time, but sometimes as bass as well. The tuba parts are very chamber like, as much classical-ish as they are jazz, but always very rock’n roll at the same time. Lots of counterpoint, even some orchestral lines, but not without a dose of rawkus funk, all done with Latin flavor.

During our residency we are doing concerts, a record for Munich-based Winter and Winter records, as well as many educational performances around town.

I thought I’d pass the word in case any French Tubenet folks are in the area... please come by and show me which wine is best!!
