Walking in Memory of Moises Carrasco

Hi all,

Many of you may recall the sad news of the passing of Moises Carrasco, one of our tuba brethren, who succumbed to Leukemia this past January after a 2 year battle. I never had the pleasure to meet Moises in person, however we first traded emails a couple of years ago while I was raising funds for the Light the Night Walk (LTN), which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Moises had recently been diagnosed. He and I stayed in touch over the next couple of years and he served as such an inspiration to me in his valiant fight with blood cancer.

This year, I walk in memory of Moises as well as another dear colleague of mine, Carol Tomasullo.

These are challenging times financially for many, I know, but I hope you find that you can spare even a few dollars to help eradicate Leukemia and other blood cancers that kill so many each year.

This year's walk across the Brooklyn Bridge takes place on Thursday, October 14, 2010.

Over the past four years, I have been truly honored and humbled by the tremendous support I have received in sponsorship of my participation in the LTN totaling nearly $10,000, of which the tuba/euphonium community has made a significant contribution. My goal is to raise $5000 this year and I hope I can count on your support.
