Beautiful musicianship and expressiveness! I got goosebumps a couple of times. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for sharing that video, Hal-----------outstanding music and performance.

I just got a copy of the VHS "Brassed Off" ($2.72 plus shipping on Amazon.com) in which the Grimethorpe Colliery Band is featured. Great group. Those British brass band cornetists seem to have unlimited endurance. Wish I had chops like that.

Nice playing. I couldn't hear much of Gene until that last note. :)

Maybe it's just me... but there are some excerpts that I have a real hard time listening to on their own (and vice versa). Oddly enough, I learned/listened/studied Nimrod only as part of the entire Enigma variations. Honestly it's not even my favorite part. Hearing this clip outside of the full 30-minute piece always feels cut short to me. I'm a wierdo. :)

I've been putzing around with Google and may yet find an answer amongst the massive list of results..., but, does anyone know if this performance is commercially available on DVD (Daniel Barenboim with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, opening the 1997 season at Carnegie Hall)?

Thanks
