? for owners of Deck mpces.

Hello. I own two Deck mouthpieces, a #1 (rounded) and a #3F. I don't use the 3F as it is too big for my taste. I might use it as a doorknob. I am experimenting with the #1 on a 4/4 CC tuba.
Well, I far as I can determine, the #1 takes too many "highs" out of the sound - on my tuba/for the way I play. For me, the sound is less interesting, and simply harder to cut through with a trombone section.
Do other "heavyweight" mpces. have this same effect?
Why were the Decks discontinued?
