Re: 2010 Frankfurt Musikmesse with Pics
I was in Frankfurt on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning and wish I had more time to really spend playing horns.
The horns that really impressed me were the new Kanstul tubas, mainly the CC and Eb front action. These horns have all the best characteristics of Yorks but only with much better intonation.
What sold me on the Kanstul was that Gerhard Meinl, who had the booth just opposite, was listening to what I was playing on the Kanstul CC and seemed really impressed! He looked over and smiled.
It was nice meeting Steve Ferguson and Lee Stoffer and I hope to see them again.

He had exceeded bandwidth on Photobucket and can't link the pictures any longer. Have no fear. You can still browse his Photobucket Album.J.c. Sherman wrote:I wish I could get more than 10% of these photos to show... I'm drooling!

Is anyone else not able to see some of the pictures, instead getting a "bandwidth exceeded" sign where the pic should be? I guess there's just too many of us drooling over the photos...
EDIT: You can also right-click the bandwidth exceeded sign, choose "open image in new tab" (or something like that) and it will open a new tab with the original image

Sorry everyone! I guess Photobucket has become more commercialized since I used them last time;) I will transfer the photos to another website later today.

Very cool! That 5 valve Tubchen F (the one you're playing)- is it the same size as a regular small F?

Those J.Meinlschmidt double valves for tuba, where can you but them from and can they be installed on any rotary tuba?
