Comparison Photo Kalison vs Neptune

Post by NDSPTuba »

At the Dallas Tuba Christmas today I noticed a gentleman had a Piston Neptune and asked if I could take a comparison pic with my Kalison Pro 2000. He kindly agreed and I thought I'd share with the class. Sadly it did make be realize I had a little size envy and want a bigger tuba. LOL.

The K2001 is a little bigger than the Pro2000,so you could always "upgrade" if you can find one. It seems that there are a few people on the board looking for a Pro2000 now, so you should have no trouble selling your old horn if you wanted something bigger.
I have cut and paste info from a previous post:
Disregard the specs on the 'change website; they are wrong.

Real Specs:

K2001 - Bore: 20mm (0.788"), 4th-5th valve 21mm (0.827")
Bell diameter: 495mm (19-1/2")
Height: 95cm (37-1/2")

Pro2000 - Bore: 20mm (0.788")
Bell diameter: 470mm (18-1/2")
Height: 90cm (35-1/2")

If, and that may be a big if, I can find a bigger 6/4 CC that plays better than my Kali. Enough so that it would warrant the price diff, then I will give you shout. I don't give it much of a shot, but I do take every opportunity I can to try new tubas.
