ID a strange tuba? Found!

Post by David Richoux »

Jim O'Briant found this:
strange tuba.jpg
He thinks it might be German, but has no other info.

Any ideas? (I have not done a Horn-u-copia search yet.)

I've seen that picture before. I thought it was a Thein tuba, but I can't find that picture on their website.

Here's the website:

There are still a couple of pictures there (the one above, and a close-up of the valve section). Several previous threads on TubeNet about it ... all previous links-to-pictures seem broken (apparently they've reorganized their website).

Great!

Thanks for the quick replies... very nice details on the valve-set (bet that horn costs a bunch!)

It seems to me that the Kronos would have way too many places for water to accumulate. The Kunst seems to have the individual valve circuits arranged to help with that.
