There used to be a website called "The Basement Register" by Gary Press that had lists of tuba professors in American colleges and conservatories in addition to lists of orchestral low brass sections in the US and abroad. The lists were not comprehensive, but it did contain some useful information. The website's hosting changed and I don't think anything has been updated in about three years.

Over on Dave Werden's site there is a probably not quite up to date list covering euphonium (as opposed to tuba/euph or trombone/euph) college instructors.

"Someone could list geographic groupings of states (considering population, to be fair) and folks could "volunteer" to google the crud out of ONE group of states and report back...

Once compiled, a list could be compiled that would be useful to MANY...unless DZ has some ace in the hole...??

DZ could, of course, compile a list of ITEA members who show "teacher/instructor/professor" in their ITEA profile.

You wouldn't want to try to learn the tuba from someone who is NOT an ITEA member, now would you?

This compilation does sound like a good ITEA project. A good organisation, well worth active membership.
