Does it seem like players who prefer pistons (me) seem to be out-numbered by the players who prefer rotary horns here on tubenet. Or am I just imagining this in my head?

It's just you. But really, there are lots of both, and plenty of people with multiple tubas that have some of each.

I love the way a horn sounds, firstly, then how it plays. Sometime it has pistons, sometimes rotors. It depends.....
