Rodney Newton's birthday?

Post by yoink »

I am looking for Rodney Newton’s year of birth and year of death, although I don’t think he is dead. I am performing his Capriccio on a recital and need his date(s). I was wondering if anyone knew them. I have looked online and in the only cope of Groves I have been able to get my hands on but neither have yielded anything. Thank you.

Hi there

I performed capriccio a couple of times last year with the Maidstone Wind Symphony. After the first one they posted about the concert on their facebook page & Rodney "liked" the post & sent a well done message. Subsequently I sent him a thank you reply & he's now on my friends list.

You can message him him via his facebook page http://www.facebook.com/rodney.newton1 & I'm sure he'd be able to give you all the info you'll need. He seems like a charming man & is always interested in performances of his works.

Hope that helps & enjoy the capriccio.... It's a great piece to play.
