It would have been nice if we could have listed all of them in order of importance. My first love is the community band I founded five years ago. However, I play with three other amateur groups and one professional group.

Where's "brass band" in your list?

I see "community band", but to me that implies a standard concert band. with (shudder) saxophones and oboes...

I play nearly every Sunday in a Church Praise Band, so I picked that one as my first (only) choice. I also do avant-garde chamber stuff w/ mixed instrumentation, honky-tonk-ol'-timey-tunes w/ piano & percussion, and also low-brass quartet stuff.

Besides the tuba/euph ensemble (Continental Divide Tuba Society), I'm in a dance band which plays 1920's - 30's - 40's charts, mostly swing, with a few from the 50's - 60's. Our community band plays only during the summer -- I try to participate if no stress-relief seminars (fly-fishing) are scheduled. :D

You also left off Senior Drum & Bugle Corps. I play in a local community band, a senior corps and my college's alumni band at the moment. So another listing for "Multiple Groups" would have been a help.

Not in your poll:
1. orchestra (horn)
2. brass band (tuba)
3. quintet (tuba)
In the poll:
4. very occasionally community band (cornet)

Mainly I play tuba in the following...

Peninsula Symphonic Band (community)
Vespus Marimba Band (Latin, Carribean, jazz, and rock)
The Skumbaag Show (Heavy Metal Vaudeville)

In addition I do a lot of pit (theatre) stuff and am working with a guitarist/vocalist.

I also play at home with my wife on piano, daughter on alto sax, and my son on baritone. This may be the most fun of all. Our own little down-home family band. :D
