7th grader playing the ride
Here is a 7th grade student of mine playing the Ride. What is scary is her age and the fact that she is only 4' 10".

That's great, Tom. I remember you mentioned looking for a manageable horn for her. Looks like you found one. What is it?

Re: 7th grader playing the ride
She is actually playing on the school horn in the video but she has the JinBao 200 in silver arriving in June.

No, that's gotta be a fake. You can't play the Ride on a 3-valve BBb.
Very cool to see that! I still played the trumpet in 7th grade... ack... the shame...

Oh, I just realized it's a 103! She's so tiny, it didn't cross my mind the tuba could be that little!mctuba1 wrote:She is actually playing on the school horn in the video but she has the JinBao 200 in silver arriving in June.

Re: 7th grader playing the ride
The 103 looks like a 6/4 in her hands. Our next video is going to show off her two and three octave scales, she knows them all and plays them from EE to Bb above middle c.

Re: 7th grader playing the ride
Holy cow! She's going to be a monster once she gets four valves.... I'm lucky to get up to an F or G above middle C.... The only reason I can get lower than her is my four valves.... That's just awesome. I know I probably couldn't have played that in 7th grade! Kudos to her!mctuba1 wrote:Our next video is going to show off her two and three octave scales, she knows them all and plays them from EE to Bb above middle c.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving's probably not for you.
