Hi all,
Recently I've noticed that when I press down one of my valves on my Willson euphonium when playing I get a mettalic ringing sound. It's not overly loud, but noticeable. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I thought it could be an indication that maybe I should get new springs, but wasn't sure. There's nothing else on the horn that I know of that could be vibrating to create the sound. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Re: Metallic Ringing Sound from Valves
Most bottom caps have an indentation (or a recess) intended to center the spring. If the springs don’t sit there, then they may buzz against the casing and/or the piston.
Other obvious troublemakers are caps, buttons, or even the lyre-box screw coming loose.
