These models of marching tubas have been around for several years now. The 5/4 horn is basically a cut down GG contrabass that they have made since 1990 for the drum and bugle corps. I know... I own one! GG contra that is...

I can't believe how much Jack is now looking like his father. I went through Jack when I bought horns for my youth band back in 1995. If you ever get a chance to tour the factory... do it!

...only quoting...not commenting...
Of course he said that... he's trying to sell horns and Kanstul doesn't offer a sousaphone. But the Kanstul's are one of the better sounding over-the-should horns available. They project better than the Yamaha's and the DEG's IMHO. I haven't had a chance to hear a section of the King or Jupiter horns used with a marching band yet.

If he slapped that tuba one more time with his ringed finger, I'm going to pitch a fit!

Have to agree the sound of the ring finger hitting the finish was almost as bad as the sound he produced I am sure it sounds better with a tuba player on it.
I personally don't like the convertibles and would not swop from my Conn 26K but I came to field marching from european military style marching sure miss being out front and being away from the Drums
Cant carry a tune but I can carry a tuba.
