Howdy Tubenet,
Is there anyone in the Rochester, NY area who will let a stranger(me) borrow a sousaphone for 2 days?
Some "credentials" showing that your horn would be in good hands:
I have played tuba with the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra for the past 2 years, the Greece Symphony Orchestra last year, sousaphone with the Hilton Generations Band for 3 years, and contrabass bugle with the Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps in '07 and '09. Past student of SUNY Fredonia for 3 years, studying Music Education, and for a short time also studied tuba performance.
That's the bulk of my tuba résumé. If you feel the need to know the rest of my résumé, ask.
I would be using your horn for a couple parades with the Hilton Generations Band, on Wednesday July 27th and Thursday July 28th, in Hilton, just north of Rochester.

I'll pick it up from your place. Or we can meet somewhere. You're the boss, it's your horn!
I'll show you my big ol' Cerveny CC and bass trumpet and we'll have some tuba talk!
I would march with my Cerveny but the only way to do it is very uncomfortable, especially with my playing position on that horn. I used to own a King fiberglass sousa, but recently sold it.
I'll pay for any repairs if I somehow damage your sousa. I have dented an instrument only once...my old Miraphone 188...and that was only a crease, not a dent really. I bought and sold that beauty using tubenet, also bought my Cerveny CC using tubenet.
I'll be gentle with your horn!
PM me, or email me at drathgundar@gmail.com" target="_blank or call my cell:

Thanks for looking.

Unless you've made some enemies in Rachacha, the guys in Hitmen or PrimeTime or Ghost Riders should be able to help you out. I'm sure, as an alumni of Empire, you must know most of them.

I think the Ghost Riders and Primetime are marching on the 28th Hilton parade also. I know both tubists of Primetime, marched with them in '07.aqualung wrote:Unless you've made some enemies in Rachacha, the guys in Hitmen or PrimeTime or Ghost Riders should be able to help you out. Haven't thought to contact Hitmen, thanks for that...I know their tubist also, went to school with him for the last 3 years.
The tuba world is small in Rochester!
