Hey Guys!
Can anyone tell me if the bell screws for Conn sousaphones circa 1920 are the same design as today's Conns?
Also, the same question for King screws circa 1973....
Thanks!

Re: Bell Screws for Sousaphones
The screw threads have remained the same for Conns (1/4-20) and King (5/16-18) but the styles of the heads and knurling has changed multiple times over the years. Getting those things to match exactly can be a real 'bugger'.
To answer you question directly.... No. Bell screws from the 20's will not look the same as those in production today. Unless you are an absolute purist... the best thing to do would be to just purchase all new matching screws.
