West Coast brand tubas?
A recent message took me to German eBay, so I was searching through the low brass listings and found this:
B Tuba WESTCOAST TU 1266 kompakt
Anybody know anything about the maker or horn? It looks a bit like a small Monke BBb that I have (maybe 50 years old.)

Definite resemblance to this one:

Could "West Coast" be a stencil like "Schiller"?

Yep, it is. But consider that you won't get anymore comments like "Hey, nice trumpet you've got there".

And at least the person who lists it on ebay will get it right.TubaTinker wrote:At least they spelled it correctly!David Richoux wrote:That was my opinion, too!bort wrote:Sorry, but that little badge in the tuning crook that says "TUBA" is friggin hilarious!!
-Dave (still amazed by the number of ebay ads that say tuba for sale and have peck horns, bugles, Kuhlo horns, baritone horns and other things listed)

Re: West Coast brand tubas?
I agree, appears to be an Amati or Cerveny, perhaps a clone thereof.
