Willson 4v euph

Post by tubarex »

I have a Willson euphonium, silver finish, large shank, 4 in-line valves, non-compensating with hard case. It is about 20 years old, but in excellent shape. I am selling it to a friend, but we don't know how to figure out what it worth. I don't think Willson makes this configuration any more, and the dealers here don't seem to know what price to put on it. I bought it for $2000 about 15 years ago. Does anyone have any idea about the value?

The Willson 2704 is still in production. Tuba Exchange and Taylor Music both carry it. Taylor's price is $3450 in silver; Tuba Exchange's is $4925.

There was a 2704 listed here on TubeNet that sold for $1750 a couple of years ago, and Quinntheeskimo listed a lacquer 2704 on ebay earlier this year that sold for $1500.

[Edit: corrected a typo.]
