Good Practice Mute For Getzen G50 Tuba

Post by thetubawizard »

I'm getting ready to go to college and i recently got a chance to play my Getzen G50 with a practice mute in a lesson. I was extremely surprised by how much an effect it had on my playing and I'm now interested in buying my own to help me become a better player and student. I have no idea what to look for when buying a mute since i am new to them. I'd appreciate any advice or information on brands, sizes, prices.

Based on the bell profile, I am guessing that the Dennis Wick practice mute designed for the Besson Sovereign EEb tubas would probably be a very good fit.

Dennis Wick practice mutes fit well in a G50.

I use a Trumcor practice mute on my CB50...not really sure if there is a model/size number and I got it used, but it fits perfectly and does the job. I would also not hesitate to check out the Dennis Wicks. My straight mute is a DW and fits her like a glove...
