I'm like you, Eupher; I was driven to experiment. And I read Eb treble on an Eb like a trumpet, and on F and others as bass. My difference as an experimenter is I never bothered to quit (thank god). Being weird has been advantages for me.

But I will repeat - SO much music is for Eb treble - mostly English and Civil War. And feeling comfortable with it opens a world of literature up to you, from Mozart horn concerti to Sachse trumpet concertinos to Many of the Phillip Jones pieces where someone lost the Bass Clef tuba part :lol:
