Do you really think that would make any detectable change in the partials? If it were a 1/8 inch dent in a large bow wouldn't the general recommendation be to leave it alone?

This is interesting. I would have thought a "cheap" production (mass production even) would avoid this manufacture technique. Isn't brazing very labor intensive and demanding of quality control? Why would one braze two pieces together there, is it just easier to assemble? Why hide it and not use a ferrule?

I'm not worried at all about Talis; They will be "designed by German engineers".

The parent company has always gone with the inexpensive options--first the East Germans with their communist country factory B &S, and now with the Chinese company Talis.......

I wonder if their new instruments will say 'Designed in Germany, Made in China'....

How long until all of B&S moves to the 'Great Wall' district?..........
