TubaMeisters in San Antonio River Parade

Post by TubaRay »

Although not credited by name, the TubaMeisters were on the front page of the San Antonio Express-News, on Tuesday. The float/barge we were on won the competition, largely based on audience response. We were representing the local German heritage organization, known as the Beethoven Maennerchor(long story about that name).

Also interesting in that parade was the local US Army band special unit Biohazard Brass Band (New Orleans funk style!)

I wasn't there - just found out about the group via Facebook.

Ray and David, thanks for the mention of my group. The link David posted was from a few years ago, when the group was just formed and getting used to the 'new' genre I had in mind. A few years later, it has evolved into an award-winning brass band Music Performance Team (MPT) in the U.S. Army.

Here's a video of us from the river parade. It was great seeing you guys there, Ray!
