Borrow hard case for Miraphone 188?

Post by bort »

I may be moving in the next month or so, and need a way to protect my tuba in the moving truck. I don't need a case long-term, but hoping I could borrow one or a week or so.

Does anybody have a hard case (MTS or similar) that I could borrow for my move?

Here's what I would propose:
-- You ship the case to me
-- I use it/move with it
-- I ship it back to you (or return in person if close enough!)

I would pay for all shipping, plus some amount for the use of the case. If local, I can pay you in money or beer. :tuba:

My exact destination is still TBD, but I'll update this post soon as I know for sure.

Not a bad idea, though I did ask Matt about boxes once a few years ago. His answer was that the store is so small they don't keep more than they need themselves. May be worth a call though, might have lucky timing.

Hard case ideas still welcome...

I have found that wardrobe boxes from Uhaul fit almost any tuba perfectly.
They're $15 maybe?

Thanks Norm. Guess I thought a hard case might be easier than packing as if I was shipping it...but...guess that's a good idea too!

Other option would be to put it in the trunk of my car, but for a bunch of reasons that might not be practical (or even possible).

Good idea, but unless my wife rides on the roof... :)
