Does anyone know where it is possible to get hold of scrap tuba parts?

On Ebay you can usually find an old trashed out tuba or two that you can get fairly cheap.
Happiness is a warm tuba.

I don't get your point DP- what does the link you have posted have any think to do with me looking for scrap tuba parts? And fairweather, I have indeed brought a couple of beaters off ebay to date, however I've found that a lot of the time even something that looks like junk fetches a reasonal sum

Exactly. As a guy who specializes in fixing low-brass... I am of the opinion that 'scrap tuba parts' would have to be far beyond recognition to be labeled as such.

Parts are parts. .... and parts are expensive. Try buying a 1st branch for a Conn 2XJ!

I see. maybe I'll have to adjust my expectations in terms of the price I pay for some parts

Or diversify the places you look for them. Flea Markets, Goodwill, Government auctions, Local classifieds, Looking on Ebay for misprints and typos...
