hi,
this is my first post here ! i play trombone for the most of the time. but is attempting to double on the tuba. i have a Chinese 3/4 CC 4 rotary valves and love it. but i am still practising on the CC fingerings.
i want a small BBb so that i can sight read faster. i did comparing a compensating and non-compensating euphoniums side by side and like the compensating one more. its easier to play most of the notes in tune.
so i just want to know if a small 3/4 BBb small compensating 3+1 piston valves exist in the world? do you have any recommendation? i want small tuba because it seemed that it would be easier for me.
thx for any suggestions..
Kin

The smallest compensated 3+1 BBb tuba I know of is the one sold by http://www.mrtuba.com in the UK. That is not much larger than a compensated EEb.
However there are a number of very good non-compensated 3/4 BBb made. I have just got in stock a very nice playing rotary valve one http://www.wessex-tubas.co.uk/products/ ... otary-tuba which we will soon also have in the USA. like you CC it comes from China, but this plays spot in tune throughout the range.

Kin, It is basically a Courtois 182 BBb which are no longer made otherwise, but Mr.Tuba sells under his own brand. As I say it is about the same size as a compensated Eb
Or there is a used original 182 for sell here http://www.hayesmusic.co.uk/acatalog/Tu ... dso409dr70

No - to be honest it is not one of the most popular compensated BBb. There is not and unlikely to ever be a Chinese version.fkin wrote:hi,Neptune,

Personally I think you are better getting either a 3/4 rotary valve BBb, or if you really want compensated, a full size BBb like this http://www.wessex-tubas.co.uk/brass-ban ... ompensated
