Woodward Concerto editions

I am looking at Hickey's online catalogue and there are 2 different editions of the Woodward Concerto for Tuba. One is published by Cimarron and appears to be the "original" and there is a 2nd edition, from 2010, published by Tuba-Euph Press.
Do any of you know the differences between the 2 editions?

The 2nd edition has a few minor note changes, and it also accommodates for better page turns. I have the original version from Cimarron Music, and the page turns are horrible. Hope this helps!

Just to be sure this is 100% clear:

The original was published by Tuba-Euphonium Press not Cimarron Music Press. In 2010, Cimarron Music Press took over the rights for the piece and it was completely re-engraved and with James edited a great deal. The new version includes many changes to the piano part for easier playing, regrouping of notes for easier reading, more slurs, proper page turns, articulations, dynamics, etc. Trust me it took some time!

The band accompaniment version has also been re-engraved (this one took even longer) and is available as well.

James Woodward’s Concerto for tuba and piano was previous published by Tuba-Euphonium Press in 2000. Cimarron Music Press released this newly revised version in 2010. One change in this revision is the change of engraving software. The new version updates the original score from Finale 98 representation to Finale 2011. The part is more legible and the page turns are significantly more convenient. For example, the first page turn in the original version occurs during a melodic line, requiring either memorization or photocopying to eliminate this page turn. The new version eliminates this awkward page turn by placing the turn during a multi-measure rest.

The parts from each version are the same in terms of rhythms and pitches. However, there are numerous differences in terms of articulations and dynamics. Some new articulations are added and some old articulations are changed or eliminated. Crescendos and decrescendos now have beginning and ending dynamic markings, which is a great improvement from the original’s ambiguous markings. The piano score has more rhythm and pitch differences in addition to articulation and dynamic differences. Woodward has said “the piano reduction has been altered to feel like an actual piano reduction instead of a short score for a large ensemble.”

The new revision of Woodward’s Concerto has increased the readability of the music for the soloist and accompanist. All of the markings are now more specific and quite clear. Page turns are now more convenient or have been eliminated altogether. I recommend this revision as it is a superior product compared to the original edition.
