Early Sousaphone Reference In Magazine

Post by Paul Scott »

Hello All,
I stumbled across this some time ago. Down on the bottom right-hand side of the page is a paragraph or two on a new instrument in 1898:

A wonderful site in which to search for all sorts of things.

What a great resource for research this is - thanks for letting us know about it!
Played an F. E. Olds 4-valve BBb in high school (late '70s)
Led the USC Trojan Marching Band tuba section (early '80s)
Now playing an F. Schmidt (=VMI) 3301 and goofing around
on a 1927 Pan American 64K Sousaphone Grand
