Rutter Gloria

I'm sure I've played this before, but I simply don't remember it. Big BBb or big F? no other options available to me.

Thanks, Bloke. I'm listening to a couple others, one uses an F, and it doesn't have the genetalia I'd prefer. Tempo has seemed slow on most vids of the first mvt, but better slow than as bad as the one with the F evident.

I've performed the bass bone part numerous times and I really, really like a BAT sitting next to me.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Depends on the size of the chorus and the hall. If a small group (say, less than 30 voices) and space - go with the F so long as you have a good low Bb and Ab on it and can control the pedal F. I've played it on BBb, CC and Eb. Only complaint was when I used my old Alex CC in a particularly resonant church.
Gnagey CC, VMI Neptune 4098 CC, Mirafone 184-5U CC and 56 Bb, Besson 983 EEb and euphonium, King marching baritone, Alexander 163 BBb, Conn 71H/112H bass trombone, Olds Recording tenor trombone.

There was such a thing as too much tuba? Say it ain't so!

Might have had something to do with placement as well. I was in a really sweet spot. That was in a rehearsal - I used my 184 for the concert.

Oh, yes. I think it would sound fine as the Easter Extravaganza at a particularly large Baptist church.
