Tonguing Exercise for a tuba player from the South:
"Hot Diggity hot diggity hot diggity Dam!"
First, say the words in their natural rhythm over and over, starting slowly and gradually speeding up.
Next, play it using the same syllables as you used when saying it. Start slowly and speed up.
Bingo! Now you can triple tongue.
(I'm from Mississippi so don't get offended by the Southern reference. It might even work if you aren't from the South.)

This calls up....Tu-Ku-Tu. I am a proponant of Tu-Tu-Ku. What do I say Di-ty-gi?
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Merideth Willson told this story about a member of Sousa's band. When asked why he could triple-tongue so well he replied, "I'm from Naugatuck, Connecticut".
