Hello, one and all.
I'm looking into buying a practice mute for my PT-6 CC tuba, but I don't know which of the commonly available practice mutes would fit the horn. If this were something I'd be using all the time, I'd bite the bullet and buy one of the mutes from Schlipf. As it is, I will most likely use this mute for only a few different occasions, so I'd rather buy one of the more affordable mutes. I am interested in the Trumcor Stealth mute, and I assume the Deluxe size would work better for the PT-6. Anyways, if any of you have some advice on what mute works with a PT-6, I'd appreciate hearing it.

Re: Practice mute for a PT-6
I only tried one practice with my PT6, the Trumcor practice mute I bought a few years ago. I can't say how it compares with any other practice mute, but mine fits well. It dramatically lowers the horn's volume, but at least for me very low notes are not very responsive and are hard to play in tune with it.
From their website https://www.trumcor.com/shop?product_ca ... Tuba+Mutes" target="_blank it seems they changed the mute's design so you can change how much air goes through, so other than how it fits I guess it's a very different mute from the one I have.
Good luck in your search for the right mute!
