Hi,
Last night I had a guy in my community concert band come up and compliment me on my horn. The horn has a silver (shiny) finish. He asked me what I used to keep it polished and I replied I wiped it down with a silver polishing cloth. He informed me that his trumpet was a silver finished horn but that it had a coat of lacquer over the silver, and he advised me that I might be taking off the lacquer if I was using the wrong cloth. Do the new King silver horns have a coat of lacquer over the silver finish? I had thought that the silver plate was the finish.
Thanks for any information, and merry Tuba Christmas!
John

Re: Horn Finish Question King 2341 New Design
The easy way to tell is to rub a small area with the silver polishing rag or a dab of silver polish. if you get black off your horn when you polish it... it is not lacquered.
