Cerveny 661-6
Who has ever gotten a chance to try a Cerveny 661-6 F tuba? How is its low range and intonation? How well does D, Db, and C below the staff play?

Not that horn but I used to own the 653. It was amazing. I miss that horn a lot (sold it to improve my composition studio which makes more money for me than tuba playing). I'll be considering buying it again in the future.
It's a "3/4" in size but only because it's relatively squat. It produces an awesome sound and is SO SO SO SO easy in the low register.

There was a used one at Dillon's that sat there for quite a while. I briefly tried it and it had a nice sound but some weird intonation. It has 6 valves, but really needed 6 valves. That said, it may not have been a representative sample of that tuba. I can't say it's a bad model, just I wouldn't have bought that specific horn.
As a fellow 653 owner, I can confirm everything that pierso20 has said. Great tuba, but I'm selling mine too... not because I don't like it, but because I just don't have time to play it!
