NEW BEARD video premiered by MTV
Greetings friends... my rock band New Beard (a band from Brooklyn that uses tuba as the bass) has a brand new video that was premiered by MTV yesterday
Here's the link

The song is called Solamente Cloud and is off of our latest CD called New Beard City - and the video features 1001 unique and individually drawn faces by Russian artist 'Deems', a project that took him five months straight of drawing.
The song is also featured in the Jan/Feb CD sampler of Relix Magazine

Joe. What is an "electric" tuba? Nice playing by the way.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Re: New Beard video premiered by MTV
lol, thanks - I don't use any effects on that album at all, what you hear is actually acoustic tuba. (my 186 CC). On some of our "Moment of Peace" EP I did play into an amp on a couple of the tunes.
Live I do play through an amp, with an occasional slight effect; I always like to have the natural tuba sound most present and still around even when affected and/or amplified loud.
I'm not sure where the "electric tuba" thing came from or who wrote that... I actually try to avoid that one... but once the playing is done, it's all outa my hands!! ...ahh entertainment!

Sounds good, Joe! (the rest of the band, too) The artwork is worth checking out, for sure.
I should to try to come see you guys play, one of these days...
Bravo!

THANKS! Hooly Horppydaze everyone!
Here's some other New Beard videos -- making these has been a lot of fun. Several more will be out in the next couple of months. (all have tuba as the bass)
Given (off New Beard City, filmed in Stockholm)

I Walk the Streets (live cut off Moment of Peace - warning, a bit edgy)

Doom (off New Beard City - I appear in this video, fun with tomatoes. they are a good brass polish, btw)

recent live, amateur (phone) video from a fan
