might just want to be careful announcing that you have transfered recordings and have uploaded them or whatever....If they'll (aka men in black, or grey suits) go after 12 year olds I am sure they would love to catch a Tuba Player

That service assumes you own the LP in question, and that you are not distributing copies of the digital files. That's the legal perspective. I say go ahead. If the publisher would rerelead the LP in a new format, you'd buy it. Since they won't, they've force your hand.
