Maknongan

THE RETURN OF CIRCUSBOY!!!!

Hi TubeNetters. I'm happy to be back after a few years' hiatus.

Question: Does anybody have the sheet music to the piece "Maknongan" by the wacky Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi?

This was the last piece he ever wrote (1976; he died in '88 or so; once he wrote this, he figured he was finished). It's a four-minute piece written for tuba, though to my knowledge, it's only been recorded using string bass (Kairos 0012162KAI).

The sheet music has been published, but it's now out of print, and the publisher has no intention of reprinting it anytime soon.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever find a copy of this? In search of a copy myself several years later ...

I am pretty certain I have a copy of this work floating around somewhere. I may have to dig for it, but I'll try and find it. I know I had the piece at some point, but I haven't looked for it recently.

That would be great. I think I just found a copy on Amazon, but am unsure if it is available or back ordered ( which means it won't ever show up). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

Dave S.
