Hello, all
4 years ago I bought the Loud LM5 tuba mouthpiece. I used it on my yamaha 641 Bb tuba. I recently bought an Meinl Weston 2145 and I tried using this mouthpiece with this horn and the sound was really bad. The overtones aren't coming out and it's not sounding full on the horn. Can anyone explain to me the problem. Thanks BTW I just bought the Alan Baer MMVI so hopefully it would make a difference.

Well, Certain keys only works on certain locks. Or smth like that.
Or like how certain people likes certain types of food flavour, The tube is the metaphorical person and the mouthpiece is the 'food' . .
Hmm, let me know after you try ur Alan Baer MMVI on ur 641 if it's good/better.

Your lips has gotten use to the other mouthpiece ....I had the same problem i stopped playing for about 3 years and started back off on a 18 and couldnt get a full sound my lips would swell up too fast and coudnt hit certain notes but all you have to do is give it time to adjust to your lips and you should be fine
