The young bearded BSO trumpeter is Michael Martin, brother of Chris (CSO) Martin. Both boys grew up in the church I attend and played with us. Michael arranged for it according to what our music director said. Great and talented young men.

Re: BSO Brass vs. St.Louis Sym Brass!
The video shows something I remember hearing about a couple years ago while at the NAMM Show. Mike Roylance had one of the new Kanstul large York/Holton special alloy bells installed on the Nirschl 6/4 tuba that BSO owns. As I was told the story, it improved the playing characteristics of the horn tremendously. But I didn't realize that they did such a fancy engraving on the bell afterwards. In big letters it reads, "Boston Symphony Orcheatra - Walter Nirschl York - Bell by Zigmant Kanstul", and lots of curly queues around the border.
