Temporary Trade

Post by spanky2482 »

I'm a student in the upstate South Carolina area. I am looking to temporarily trade my Meinl Weston 45 SLP with an Eb horn of similar caliber. I am doing a tour in Wales with my university's brass quintet in the spring and have been told I could be loaned an Eb horn during my stay. Naturally this interests me a lot in the money department. If anyone is interested or would be willing to loan me an Eb please let me know.

So you want to temporarily trade your F tuba for an Eb to take overseas on your tour?

Why do you need an Eb tuba anyway? Do you know how to play one at the required level to even make this worth considering?

I don't know who told you about getting a loaner tuba, but I'd be absolutely shocked if you find someone willing to temporarily trade you their Eb for the sole purpose of you taking it on an overseas tour. What's your plan if the loaner tuba gets damaged, lost, stolen, etc.? Got a flight case for a horn that isn't yours?

I think he's saying he wants to borrow an Eb here in the US to practice on, and that an Eb will be waiting for him in Wales.

My interpretation is that he'll be loaned a horn during his trip/when he gets there, and is trying to find a local Eb to get used to playing Eb before he leaves.

Ah, ok...that is much more reasonable.

I can't help with the load but am interested as to where in Wales you'll be performing and with whom?

Thanks,
Phil Green.
