Hello all,
A while back, I saw a tubist who had this cool little wrap on his tuba that had backpack style straps. It was made of similar material as a gig back, but was about half as thick, and only wrapped around the valve/slide section of the tuba. The rest of the tuba was visible. I have also seen a few euphonium players with them.
I was wondering if anyone knows what these are called. Please comment if you know what I am talking about, because I would really like to know.

I didn't think that was what you were talking about. I'm guessing it was sort of a wrap to go around the
body of the horn with handles for carrying? I've seen similar things for carrying firewood. I would be very
interested in something like this for transporting my tuba from car to stage for outdoor gigs. Not really needing
to have the horn in a case or a gig bag............just some handles to carry it with

Yes, Like that. The one that I saw on this tuba either had removable backpack style straps, or they tucked into the wrap itself. Although I would assume that some also have the normal carrying handles, too. I think it would be very handy, indeed.
