Re: Yamaha Neos doingthe business...
In the US, it's probably necessary to attend the NABBA Competition or the US Open to be able to try the YBB-632.
It would be a pleasant surprise if Yamaha's display at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic would include the YBB-632 and, for that matter, a YCB-826S.

What's with the bolts?
Does one need to carry a bottle of loctite?

Re: Yamaha Neos doingthe business...
I just tried it very very briefly and did not compare it with the old one.
Playing a Monster York and a Miraphone Ambassodor it felt small and light in sound
That does not mean it's not darker heavier than it's predecessor.
Most brands seems to go in that direction with their 'brass band line'
As for Yamaha doing the business. Well they sure do with the bands the
cooperate with, because it was a heck of a deal
It felt nice thou. Frame, or at lest position of the 4th valve seemed
further away than the old and on a typical 981

We're all big chaps, the Neo is bigger than the Besson equivalent, I'm just 6ft tall and wide!!

No, they're the new Neo, YEB-632S. Apparently a lot better (I'm no EEb player and haven't had a chance to do direct comparisons on the EEb's).Sylvano wrote:Looks like there's a YEB-631S there too.

You're big chaps Andy, but I get feedback that some felt that the Eb was modeled for Eirik Gjerdevik
Do people find it ergonomically odd?

I had a tonal inflection once, many years ago. Don't remember what the doc prescribed, but it cleared it up completely ... never had a relapse.TubaMusikMann wrote:Huh??? Re: Yamaha Neos doing the business...
I would really like to try that new 632. I play a 994 pretty regularly and would love to give the new 632 BBb a try. Does anyone have any comparison pics of it next to a 994. Should be interesting to see it next to a horn of similar design to have some closer ideas in terms of size demensions.

Just out of curiosity what are the popular BBb tubas across the pond in the Isle. Is it still Besson or are other surfacing to the top.

Congrats on the award. B&R is a great band, one of my favorites definitely.

I had a similar tonal inflection. My doc performed a tonalectomy. Now I can only play Stockhausen.Kevin Hendrick wrote:I had a tonal inflection once, many years ago.
