Today WWBW $5899.00 in lacquer on website. Is this a price decrease?

Yeah, I think when I got mine in December that it was $6395 or something of the sort. Dang, and I was feeling all good about getting it right before the price hike.

Back on January 11 the price for the 1291 laquer model went from approx. $6,400 to $7,999 and the silver model went from approx. $7300 to $9199

I see the laquer is indeed now listed at $5899 and the silver down to $6,699. Interestingly the BBb 1291 is now higher priced than the CC at $6999 for the 4-valve and $7,699 for the 5-valve.

Since the Euro has actually fluxuated up, perhaps a drop in sales might have come into play with the price change. I know the increase back then made me consider other models that I would not have and I am extremely grateful for that. Even if the 1291 price drops more and the GR-41 (PT-606) price increases I feel I bought the best horn for me and got the better deal.

My my, this might just be the motivation I need to get the 1291. I tried it out and I really liked it back before the price increase, and then I got scared when the price shot up 2 grand in the space of about three weeks.

well it's possible someone messed with the web site. I just wish the Besson 995 prices would do the same thing....of course maybe I should just try the 1291, who knows?

Miraphone price changes:

Post by Roger Lewis »

A new person in the Purchasing Department miscalculated the NEW, and not yet in effect pricing, that was sent to us by Miraphone. It took a while for me to find someone who would listen to me.

It has been corrected.

So lemme get this straight, Roger:

The Miraphone is currently and CORRECTLY priced at $5900 for a short period of time and will return to it's $8000 price tag in the near future?

To be frank

Post by Roger Lewis »

I have to say that the pricing is not my area. It is our Purchasing Department that handles this and they price the instruments based on what it costs to buy them from the manufacturer and then get them shipped from Europe to here. If there is a price change from the manufacturer, then our price would need to change accordingly. Whether it will go as high as before - I doubt it (my opinion). As I said there were miscalculations in how the pricing had been computed. I am keeping as close an eye on this as anybody. With the Euro as strong as it is, it requires a 30% adjustment just for that alone.

Again, I apologize for the confusion and want to state that I was involved in correcting this but not the cause of it.
