Saturn waterkey breaking?

Has anyone had the plastic ring on their Saturn waterkey break? I bought a few a year or two ago and was going to have them installed, but my repair tech noted that it looked a bit "fragile," so I didn't. Just wondering if this is a viable concern or not?

I slightly melted my ring when I was soldering on an area too close. I was able to get another ring when I ordered another two full waterkeys. I really like the Saturn and feel it lives up to expectations.
