Hi all (especially those in and around NOLA),
I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for New Orleans for the French Quarter Festival. Anything I absolutely can't miss? Any suggestions? Pointers?
Thanks all,
Al

These are not all tuba bands, but they all put on a great show.
Thursday - Panorama Jazz Band 3:15 Louis stage.
Friday - lots of great stuff, I like Brass-a-holics at 7:15 Louis stage; Davis Rogan 2:00 Aquarium; Don Vappie & The Creole Jazz Serenaders 12:45 Jackson Sq; Fred Dupin's New Bumpers Jazz Band 4:45 International stage.
Saturday - New Orleans Cottonmouth Kings 11:00 French Market stage; Duke Heitger's Steamboat Stompers 4:15 French Market; The New Orleans Jazz Vipers 4:00 Rick's 315 stage.
Sunday - Tuba Skinny 12:45 French Market; Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns 12:45 Jackson Sq.
Lots more Hot Brass Bands all over the place - take your pick! http://fqfi.org/frenchquarter/schedule/ ... 014-04-13/

I will have to look some of those bands up, but Panorama is one I really hope to see someday.David Richoux wrote: Thursday - Panorama Jazz Band 3:15 Louis stage.

There are two versions - the jazz band and the larger brass band. Both are very good and fun to listen to. The international mix of styles is a key part of the group.Donn wrote:I will have to look some of those bands up, but Panorama is one I really hope to see someday.David Richoux wrote: Thursday - Panorama Jazz Band 3:15 Louis stage.
