Humming.....

Post by tubafour »

During my lesson the other day, my teacher introduced me to the BERP. It seems fantastic so far, but it uncovered something, err.....strange that I was doing when playing.

Has anyone else had problems with an uncontrollable "hum" when they play? I mean I'm literally humming the notes that I'm buzzing, resulting in a slightly muffled lower range, and a more difficult high range.

I just found it odd, and was wondering if anyone out there who may have had this problem has any tips on overcoming this. I've been working since Tuesday with the BERP, but have gotten nowhere with the humming. I simply just can't stop. I'm weird.

Thanks, in advance, for the help!

Don't worry bout it unless if interferes with the product coming out the bell.

Focus on singing at the lips. If the humming is causing the throat to close off then that could be limiting. Really focus on the sound of the buzz itself ringing out the musical phrases.
